Food

All meals are carefully cooked and prepared on the premises ensuring that all children’s dietary and nutritional needs are met;  are balanced and healthy.  A sample menu plan can be found at the back of this prospectus.  We encourage children to enjoy a variety of foods and cooking styles , ensuring a lot of fruit and vegetables are used.  If your child has any specific dietary needs or allergies, parents are required to inform the nursery in writing on registration.  We prepare milk and age appropriate foods for babies.

Clothes

We recommend that children wear clothing which is suitable for an active child’s day and the weather.  On joining we will provide your child with a smock.  We would appreciate it if all clothing can be named in order to avoid any confusion. A change of clothes must be brought in the child’s bag each day.  Parents are required to provide their own child’s nappies, and creams, we provide wipes.

The Daily Diary

A daily diary will be kept to record information about your child’s day.  This will include information on the activities your child has participated in and enjoyed that day, sleep routines, meals/milk feeds, drinks, nappy changes and any other information that may be relevant.  We ask that  you please ensure that the diary is brought to the setting each day your child attends so that continuity of information can be maintained.

The ladybird group has a weekly diary sheet detailing all the activities planned for the week.

Settling In

One settling visit will be organised before your child starts formally.

We advise that a parent or carer should never leave the child without saying 'goodbye'.
